Serbian media “Novosti” disinformed about the poisoning of thousands of Albanian students in 1989/90, saying that it was a “trick” of the Kosovo government. The medium states that the students were not poisoned without presenting any evidence, although there are many facts that prove the tragic event. The same disinformation article was published by the Russian medium “RT Balkan”.
What did Novosti report?
“The authorities in Prishtina want to add the frauds committed since the spring of 1990 to the register of victims. For decades, Pristina has not given up the agenda of fabricating various crimes and attributing them to the Serbs, and now they have this strategy in which the category of “victims” should also include the “poisoned Albanians” who allegedly poisoned the Serbian structures?! It has never been proven that Albanian children were poisoned, because that was not the case. In the spring, March 1990, they were taken to the infectious diseases clinic in Pristina, claiming that they had been exposed to toxic substances. Although the children came from mixed schools, it turned out that only the Albanians were “poisoned” and that the Serbs were resistant.
Analysis:
At the beginning of the second semester of the 1989/1990 school year, between March 21 and 23, 1990, thousands of Albanian students were poisoned by the military intelligence of the Yugoslav Army, and the State Security of Serbia launched a poisoning campaign against Albanian students who were studying at that time separately from Serbian students in cities such as Pristina, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Vushtrri, Podujeve, Mitrovica, etc., of which almost 7000 Albanian students were poisoned in various schools. This poisoning left them with adverse health effects, causing headaches, stomach pains or even nausea. Serbian doctors stated that the students had been poisoned, but after being threatened by the Serbian regime, they withdrew their testimony. Moreover, the Serbian doctors working in the respective hospitals refused to visit the poisoned students.
On this occasion, a symposium was organized in Zagreb at which the results and arguments of Serbian criminality against Albanian youths were presented. It was stated there that a collective psychic induction had taken place in Kosovo.
“Novosti” has followed the denial policy of the Serbian regime regarding the oppression, torture and murder of ethnic Albanians in Kosovo during the last war and before. This media comments on the event while ignoring the documented facts. Moreover, this reporting is a continuation of the denial by the regime at the time.
After the poisonings in Kosovo, official Belgrade launched a vicious propaganda against the Kosovo Albanians, especially against the Albanian medical staff who took care of the poisoned, while labeling them as “Cannes actors”./G.Venhari-The Geopost/
