Greek Cypriot MEP Geadis Geadi disinformed the European Parliament in his speech in which Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Donika Gervalla spoke about the terrorist attack in Kosovo on the critical water infrastructure in Iber Lepenc. Geadi said that there were many attempts to expel and kill Serbs.
What did he say?
“In light of this, I have some doubts about the perpetrators because you have condemned Belgrade, although Belgrade has stated that it is ready to identify the perpetrators.” Serbia has no intention of deviating from the EU path. There should be a proper investigation. Given that there have been systematic attempts to change the demographics in the region to exclude and kill Serbs, and instead of de-escalation, there seems to be a further escalation of the situation. And now we hear about Greater Albania and what do you think of the trends that are not leading to a calming of the region?”
Analysis:
MEP Geadi’s narrative has been copied from Serbia and its leaders, who constantly say that Kosovo is aiming at “ethnic cleansing” of Serbs and that they are allegedly being persecuted.
Geadi misinforms when he says that there are attempts to change the population structure and to exclude and kill Serbs. No international report proves any such or any other violation against the Serbs living in Kosovo. Its constitution is among the most advanced in Europe when it comes to protecting and guaranteeing rights, although they represent a very small percentage, according to the last report of the Council of Europe rapporteurs present and noted Kosovo to see how the rights of minorities are respected.
The Kosovar government continuously appeals to the Serbs to integrate into society, the police and the army. It was Belgrade that forced the Serbs to give up the Kosovo Police two years ago through pressure, intimidation and threats, as a sign of protest against the license plate issue./The Geopost/
