On the Russian propaganda portal, the only one that operates freely throughout Europe and the Western world “Russian Today Balkan” based in Belgrade, another disinformation has been published.
In an article published on January 19, 2024, it states that Brussels allegedly has a plan to expel Kosovo Serbs so that they remain less than one percent and that churches and monasteries would then be targeted.
The news given is based on a statement by Nebojša Čović, the former head of the so-called Office for Kosovo, who has held many official positions, including that of a member of parliament. He is currently the president of the football federation “Crvena Zvezda”, a football club that is returning to the arena of serbian nationalism and hatred against neighbors.

What did Covic say?
“Talks on Kosovo were also organized as part of this year’s meetings in Davos. The collective West is full of stories about stabilization and normalization, while everything seems to make the situation as unstable and abnormal as possible. In this sense, there is “a decision by Washington to sell military equipment to Kosovo. With this decision, the US is directly supporting oppression and apartheid and the end of ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Kosovo. All this is in line with the Pristina plan which is being talked about in the corridors of Brussels that a maximum of one percent of Serbs will be allowed to remain in the province. If you add to that everything that is being prepared for February 1 in connection with the transactions, then you have a complete overview of the implementation of this project, which reduces the Serbs by less than one percent,” says Nebojša Čović for RT Balkan.
This message was also shared on several pro-Russian portals in Serbia, for example on iskra.co.
Analysis:
This is misinformation, because according to official and unofficial information in Brussels, there is no such plan to expel Serbs from Kosovo. On the contrary, Brussels expects Kosovo to play its role in respecting the rights of minorities, even though Kosovo has the most progressive Constitution in this regard.
