The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has presented a series of disinformation about the US Ambassador Michael Murphy. The claims made by US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy and the United Nations resolution on Srebrenica that Bosnia and Herzegovina is being dissolved are inaccurate and part of a wider propaganda campaign.
What Dodik said:
Bosnia is being divided by the US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy and the UN resolution on Srebrenica, according to which the Serbs and Serbs have no reason to share territory and a state-political system with the Bosniaks.
This was most clearly underlined by the declaration adopted at the All-Serb Sabor in Belgrade, which stated that the resolution on Srebrenica was rejected, Dodik told journalists in Banjaluka today, reports Pravda.
Analysis:
Dodik’s statements on the role of the US ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina are part of a wider propaganda campaign aimed at destabilising regional relations. Ambassador Michael Murphy acts in accordance with international norms and principles and supports stability and peace in the region.
The aim of such statements is to divert attention from Russia’s actual role in the BiH conflict and to shift the focus to Western countries, especially the United States. Russia has been actively involved in the political processes in the Balkans for many years and has used its influence to support separatists and destabilise the region. Through various political, economic and military channels, Moscow wants to weaken the influence of the West in the region and strengthen its position as a key player.
By accusing the US ambassador of destabilising Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik is trying to undermine international efforts to stabilise the region. Such statements serve to confuse the public and to create a false image of allegedly hostile action by the West, while Russia’s real role is deliberately ignored and concealed.
The United States and the international community support the Dayton Agreement as the basis for peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Any claim that US officials are trying to derail this agreement is unfounded and contrary to the facts.
Similarly, the international community’s ongoing efforts are aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region, while destabilising activities are often supported by Russian interests in the region./G. Venhari- The Geopost/
