
University professor Blerim Reka says Putin continues to pursue his dream of restoring the borders of the Soviet Union and the power of Tsarist Russia. In a post on his Facebook profile he wrote that the eastern Ukrainian border is the rubicon that should not be allowed to be crossed and that the west today is protected in the east.

With the Russian threat to Ukraine and the Russian intervention in Kazakhstan, Putin continues to pursue his dream of restoring the borders of the Soviet Union and the power of Tsarist Russia. It began with the annexation of the two provinces of Georgia (2008), Crimea (2014), the hybrid war against the Baltic states, the support of the Belarusian endangerment of Poland and the energetic blackmail of Moldova.
In alliance with China, the recent return to power of the two eastern empires in Eurasia is desired. The far-sighted predictions of Makender (for The Heart of the Earth, 1904) and Richtofen (for The Silk Road, 1877) remain relevant today.
Russia with military conquests (“Russian world”) and China, with credit colonialism (“one way, one generation”), are expanding their presence in this area where 70% of oil reserves and 65% of natural gas are located.
The eastern Ukrainian border is the rubicon that should not be allowed to be crossed. The West, today is defended in the east.
