The United States and Israel have launched major military operations against Iran, striking several areas within Iranian territory.
The strikes, which include airstrikes and missile strikes, were officially justified by Tel Aviv and Washington as an attempt to remove the alleged "threat" to national security posed by Iran's nuclear and missile programs.
President Donald Trump confirmed the operation and stressed the aim was to "eliminate the threat from the Iranian regime."
Reports indicate that explosions have been heard in the capital Tehran, while fighting has spread to other cities, including areas near military and civilian infrastructure centers.
Iranian authorities have announced that they are responding with drone and missile attacks on Middle Eastern countries, while according to some reports, air flights in the region have been suspended and some international companies have restricted air traffic.
This escalation comes at a time when tensions between Tehran, Washington and Western allies are very high, as negotiations on the nuclear issue have failed to find a diplomatic solution.
There are currently no independently verified reports of the number of casualties from these attacks, but the explosions heard in Tehran and the strikes reported in various areas underscore the intensity of the new military conflict that has engulfed the region.
This escalation of the war in the Middle East comes after a history of ongoing conflict between the two states, including previous attacks and counter-attacks that have caused damage and casualties on both sides, as well as strong international concerns about a wider confrontation.
Kosovo supports US attacks against Iran
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo has said in a public statement that it supports the United States' attacks against Iran, whose regime it has described as one that has oppressed its own people for decades, destabilized the region, and threatened international peace and security.
"We stand with [American] President Donald Trump in his efforts to deter regimes that threaten free peoples, to protect global stability, and to support the legitimate aspirations of the Iranian people for freedom, dignity, and democracy. Regimes that oppress their citizens, that support violence against democratic countries, and that threaten other peoples cannot be a factor of peace," the statement said.
Among other things, it was mentioned that Kosovo stands in solidarity with the Iranian people for a free and democratic future.
Kosovo does not have diplomatic relations with Iran, as the latter does not recognize Kosovo's statehood.
