Sky ECC messages reveal financing of Serbs in Montenegro by Aleksandar Vučić's son and links to the criminal world

Correspondence obtained through the encrypted Sky ECC application sheds light on allegations of the involvement of Danilo Vučić, the son of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, in financing the activities of Serbs in Montenegro, in support of the Serbian Orthodox Church and against the then government of Milo Đukanović.

According to the published messages, communications took place in January and April 2020 between Belgrade football manager Dejan Grgic and Filip Koraqi, a member of the Shkaljari criminal clan, who is currently in prison in France.

The events described in these communications relate to the period when, on January 4, 2020, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he had canceled his planned Christmas visit to Montenegro.

At the time, protests and marches were taking place in Montenegro in opposition to the Law on Freedom of Religion, passed by Milo Djukanovic's government. The law had caused great tensions between the Montenegrin authorities and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Belgrade had been accused by authorities in Podgorica of involvement in organizing the protests, charges which Vučić had denied.

"I will not travel to Montenegro because I do not want to give the Montenegrin regime an alibi for the accusations that my visit is an attack on the independence of Montenegro," the Serbian president declared at the time.

However, according to correspondence in Sky ECC, on January 20, 2020, Dejan Grgić contacted Filip Koraqin and told him about a request that, according to him, had come from Danilo Vučić.

"Now Danilo is sending me a message. Let's see each other tomorrow. He asks me if I can give him some money he owes him in February. Tomorrow around 16:00 PM I can convince him to give up and postpone it, but I don't care. What do you think?", Grgiqi had written to Koraqi.

The latter had replied: "What nonsense, brother."

In the continuation of the communication, Grgic told him that if Danilo asked him about him, he would tell him that he was jealous and that he would ask someone to attack him in the media.

Koraqi had advised him not to deal with the matter directly, but to send someone else to deliver the money.

In these messages, Grgiqi also mentioned financial difficulties, saying that he only had a small amount of money for himself and his agency's expenses.

According to the published material, Danilo Vucic is the son of the Serbian president, while Dejan Grgic is a football manager whose activities, according to correspondence, were linked to Danilo Vucic and Luka Bojovic. Grgic is also the manager of Serbian footballer Dusan Vlahovic.

A day after the first communication, on January 21, 2020, the meeting between Grgić and Danilo Vučić took place.

At 16:55, Grgic wrote to Koraqi that Danilo was arriving.

"Here comes Danilo. Sam called me an idiot. I was hoping he wouldn't call today," the message read.

Koraqi responded by insulting Danilo, while Grgiqi complained that the meeting was causing him discomfort, as he had planned to leave the office.

About two hours later, Grgic informed Korac that Danilo had left his office.

This communication also revealed the reason for the request for the money that was to be paid in February.

"Hahahahahah. I'll leave this to you. I'll do it when he leaves power. Nothing, some idiotic story. He says he needs money because he finances Serbs in Montenegro for the Serbian Church, against Milos," Grgiqi had written to Koraqi.

Seven days later, on January 28, 2020, Grgic informed Korac that he had already handed over the money to Danilo Vucic.

"I was with Danilo today. I gave him money," the message said.

Koraqi responded with an ironic comment: "He deserved it justly."

The published correspondence also sheds light on Danilo Vučić's role in managing the career of footballer Dušan Vlahović.

In December 2021, Aleksandar Vučić had described his son as an honest and responsible young man who worked in a wine shop in Belgrade.

Meanwhile, the Italian newspaper La Repubblica had reported on Danilo Vučić's connections with Vlahović's career management, claims that the Vučić family had denied.

However, in another Sky ECC communication, exchanged in February 2020, Grgic spoke about a planned meeting with Danilo and his demands regarding money and the football transfer window.

"I'll write to you later, brother. I'll go out. I'll meet Danilo around 17:00 PM. I go with Danilo to meet him and he's barefoot, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and sneakers that I bought him. Oh, how backward he is, brother. This hasn't happened recently. The transfer deadline ends on Friday, he wants money, he's in a hurry to get it and he can't remember two sentences," Grgiqi had written.

The correspondence also mentions Veljko Belivuku.

The messages exchanged via Sky ECC also discuss the alleged relationship between the Vučić family and Veljko Belivuku, known by the nickname Velja Nevolja, who has been accused of leading a criminal group in Serbia.

In a message dated April 28, 2020, Grgiqi wrote to Koraqi about a conversation he said he had had with a person identified as "Politician."

This communication mentioned tensions between Aleksandar Vučić and the then Minister of Interior, Nebojša Stefanović, as well as Belivuk's relations with people close to the Serbian government.

"I was with Politicar today. He told me that it's a matter of seconds before Vucic dismisses Stefanovic and his entourage. And that Velja and Vučko (Nenad Vučković) are no better. He met Vučko somewhere and spat on Velja.

And that Velja is on Stefanovic's team. Like Papic, he gave him 300 thousand euros for some privatization. And for this reason they don't like Velja either, because he is in the opposition camp. And he tells me that Danilo hates Stefanovic and is inciting war," Grgic's message read.

A year later, the conflict between President Aleksandar Vučić and former Interior Minister Nebojša Stefanović became public in Serbia.

Sky ECC correspondence presents evidence of the involvement of people close to the Serbian government in financial relations and contacts with individuals connected to the criminal world.
