For months, the media machine of Aleksandar Vucic in Serbia and the region has been misleading the public with interpretations of statements from the trial of the Veljko Belivuk group, especially the main witness Srđan Lalić, an associate in this trial. Vucic has also personally dealt with Lalić’s statements from the trial, claiming that he is “saving himself with the truth”. Vucic’s statement referred to Lalić’s testimony about how Belivuk’s group, on the orders of the head of the “Kavački” klan, Radoje Zvicer, prepared one of the many alleged assassinations of the Serbian President with the help of some agents of the Montenegrin national security. Agencies, which Vučić specifically pointed out as the most important detail of Lalić’s statement. Of course, all this is accompanied by statements by Vucic and officials of his Serbian Progressive Party about ‘uncompromisingly fighting organised crime’ and ‘exposing all the affairs of the Belivuk group and the “Kavački” klan.
Just a few days after Lalić’s testimony and Vučić’s representation of Lalić, the Serbian Agency for Licensing of Insolvency Administrators (ALSU) sold the Geneks skyscraper, one of the symbols of Belgrade, to the person who investigators suspect was laundering money for Veljko. Belivuk. The “Western Gate of Belgrade”, as the Geneks skyscraper is popularly called, was bought for €20 million by Aleksandar Kajmaković, known as Aca Bosanac, through his company “Eureka bar”. The Geneks Tower has been a protected cultural asset since 2021.
It is not officially known whether ALSU checked the source of the money used to buy the Geneks Tower before selling it to Kajmaković.
ARREST AND INTERROGATION OVER BELIVUK DEALINGS
Kajmaković was arrested and interrogated as a citizen in February 2021, after the arrest of the Belivuk group, as part of an investigation into the financial dealings of the leader of the “Principi” fan group. In short, it is suspected that Kajmaković laundered money for Belivuk through a number of popular bars he owned in Belgrade, but also that he was only the fictitious owner of some of the bars and that he opened businesses in his own name through which Belivuk laundered money. He owns Temperament, the Casino hotel and nightclub, Boutique 1, 2 and 3, Kod Konja, the popular Skadarlija pubs Dva goluba, Zlatni bokal, Tri šešira, then the cabaret club La Fayette and others.
According to Serbian media reports, Kajmakovic gave a statement to the police for three hours, explaining his links with Belivuk, as well as with Dijana Hrkalovic, former State Secretary of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior, who is suspected of being a member of Belivuk’s group and that by abusing her official position, she interfered with investigations against him and other members of the clan.
At the time, „Novosti“ wrote that Kajmaković had business links with Belivuk and Marko Miljković, that they had invested money together in bars in the capital, and that related documentation was found during a search of facilities used by members of Belivuk’s gang.
Kajmaković subsequently told the police that he had been put in touch with Belivuk by Slaviša Kokeza, former president of the Football Federation of Serbia, who allegedly persuaded him to leave the security of his bars to the fans of FK “Partizan”, to whom Belivuk’s group ” Principi belongs. Slaviša Kokeza was for a long time one of Aleksandar Vucic’s closest associates and a senior functionary of his Serbian Progressive Party. It was because of Kajmaković’s allegations that Kokeza had linked him to Belivuk that he was questioned at the end of February 2021. A month after the interrogation, Kokeza resigned as President of the FSS and since then nothing has been known about him, but from 18 January 2022 to 9 January 2023, the companies “Prointer web” and “Prointer sistem”, which are linked to him, received as many as 39 deals from state-owned companies and institutions, worth around €13.69 million (excluding VAT), according to Serbian media.
RELATIONS WITH KOKEZA AND DIJANA HRKALOVIĆ
Kajmaković told the police that Kokeza contacted him several times in 2016 and persuaded him that the security of “Kasina” be taken over by the fans of FC “Partizan”. “He told me that they had the best security, that they could prevent criminals from coming and that there would be no problems with the fans either,” he allegedly said during the interrogation. He also reported that he had met Dijana Hrkalović several times in his bar, Butik 3, and that she had helped him to resolve a dispute with Darko Elez, a convicted Bosnian criminal who is linked to Belivuk.
Kajmaković further reported that he had asked Dijana Hrkalović about the raids on his premises, which left a broken inventory, and she had asked him “whether he was an associate of Alen Kožar from Montenegro (one of the leaders of the Skaljar clan, who was killed in 2020. in Greece), because he is an enemy of the state. I said no and that I did not know him. She said she trusted me,” he reportedly said.
Kajmaković added that he did not raid any more bars after that.
Kajmaković was also filmed several times in 2020 by neighbourhood cameras coming to the FK “Partizan” stadium in Humska Street, in the so-called “Belivuk’s bunker”, which was used by members of the criminal group for celebrations and making deals.
THE “RIGHT HAND” OF THE OWNER OF HAPPY TV
Kajmaković is also linked to the controversial businessman Peconi, Predrag Ranković, the informal owner of Happy TV, and is considered to be his closest associate. In 2017, when Željko Rutović opened fire on Predrag Ranković Peconi at the Prag Hotel in Belgrade, it turned out that the reason for the shooting was the purchase of the Venecija restaurant in Zemun. Peconi, Rutović and Joca Amsterdam were interested in the restaurant. Peconi wanted to take “Venice” and the purchase was to go through Aleksandar Kajmaković.
When Kajmaković was questioned about his links to the Belivuk group, Insajder reported that, according to the available registers, he is the owner of the company Eureka Bar, which owns the company City Port, registered for the activity of advertising. agency, which is now the final owner of the catering company “Stari grad”. The “Stari gra” includes, among others, the hotel “Kasina” on Terazije, the café “Butik” on the central square near Knez Mihajlova Street, as well as several restaurants in Skadarlija: “Tri šešira”, “Dva goluba” and “Zlatni Bokal”. The company “City port” is registered at the same address as “Happy” television. Incidentally, the previous owner of “Stari grad” is the joint stock company “Invej”, which has a number of companies and is linked to Predrag Ranković Peconi, the owner of TV “Happy”. The name of Predrag Ranković as the owner of “Invej” is not officially mentioned, but Srđan Sredojević is registered in the registers.
Kajmaković was targeted by an assassin in Budva in 2002, specifically on 11 August at 5 am. A bomb with a high destructive power was planted in his “Mercedes CLK 230” with Krusevac licence plates, which had been planted because of uncleared accounts in Sarajevo./Pobjeda/
