A new exchange of harsh words came after Dodik announced that on Monday he would organise the signing of a joint statement by the parties represented in the RS Parliament challenging BiH’s right to property as a state.
Dodik insists that all real estate on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which it inherited as state or social property, is in fact the property of the entity. In doing so, he contradicts a decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH which prohibited entities from disposing of these properties until their status is regulated by a law adopted by the BiH Parliament, reports Jutarnji list.
Dodik is now calling on the RS parties to radicalise, that is to say, if the state law on property is adopted, all Serbs working in BiH institutions should withdraw from these institutions, and the Constitutional Court judges should do so first. The statement he has proposed also threatens to establish movement control at the inter-entity border.
On Saturday, Bećirović responded by saying that these steps would amount to “playing with fire” with dangerous consequences, as they open the way to separatism.
“His (Dodik’s) separatist moves could jeopardise the peace process. For a long time now, this has become primarily a security problem, not a political one, and people in the West need to understand that”, Becirovic told reporters in Sarajevo.
Bećirović compared Dodik’s behaviour to that of Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić, who led to the war in BiH, pointing out that Dodik now does not even have ten percent of the capacity that those two had and therefore cannot count on achieving his goals.
“We also have a lot more friends outside the country and I once again tell him not to play with the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is stronger than any evildoer,” said Bećirović.
In a separate Facebook post on Saturday, Komsic claimed that Dodik is on the path “towards the final secession” of the RS from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and argued that HDZ leader Dragan Covic is helping him in some way by not giving in to their previously announced partnership.
It did not take long for Dodik to speak up, accusing Bećirović of being a peace-breaker.
“I would advise them not to play with big words and not to threaten with foreign weapons”, Dodik said, recalling that Bosnian Serbs had once defended “their country” and would do so again if necessary.Nova.rs/
