The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met his allies in New York during the session of the 79th UN General Assembly, which was attended by hundreds of world leaders.
He met with Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkiyan, about whom he wrote: “A cordial meeting with President Pezeshkiyan and a meaningful conversation on the most important aspects of cooperation between Serbia and Iran, as well as global geopolitical opportunities.”
Vučić added that they also exchanged views with him about their countries, mentioning economic relations.
In addition, Vucic spread the propaganda he created as a narrative about the “situation of Serbs in Kosovo”, that they were allegedly being persecuted.
“The particular topic of the conversation was the plight of the Serbian people in Kosovo, and I informed the esteemed interlocutor in detail about all the challenges on the way to resolving many open and serious issues in this direction.” I once again thanked Iran for its consistent and unwavering stance towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and emphasized that our country appreciates such an attitude, which withstands numerous constraints, but also testifies to friendly relations between peoples,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.
He said he used this opportunity to invite Pezeškian to visit Serbia to discuss the potential of cooperation in many areas and to strengthen relations between them.
Vučić did not let the case go without meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, with whom he discussed relations between Serbia and China and “further cooperation in areas of mutual importance and on global issues”.
He thanked China for not voting for the Srebrenica resolution, which recognizes the Serbian genocide in Srebrenica.
“I emphasized that Serbia is grateful to China, which voted against the resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly, and asked the Minister to convey my greetings and our thanks to President Xi Jinping for his continued support and sincere friendship,” he told Vucic.
At this meeting, the Serbian President also spoke of the “serious situation of the Serbs in Kosovo”.
“I reminded him of the increasingly difficult situation for the Serbian people in Kosovo and asked for China’s support in the fight for truth and respect for international law,” Vucic wrote /TheGeopost/.
