Vučić at the end of his road

Serbia’s foreign policy has finally hit a wall, behind which nothing will ever be the same again. While Vučić was completely marginalized and confronted with his insignificance during the annual UN General Assembly in New York, Serbia received two pieces of shocking news almost simultaneously.

There will probably not be a new extension of the US sanctions against NIS. A nine-month reprieve was not enough time for the Serbian authorities to consider the only possible solution—nationalizing the company that forms the backbone of Serbia’s energy sector. Instead of making this only possible decision, the Vučić regime sought other solutions, all of which were either impossible or unworkable. Even if the number of shares necessary to reduce Gazprom’s stake in NIS were to pass into the hands of another company in the next ten days, this would not be a blessing for Serbia. Such a transfer is only possible with the consent of the US, but it also means that America has only relented to show mercy to Serbian citizens who are victims of Vučić’s policies – in every respect, even on the energy issue! With this irresponsible attitude toward solving this problem, which is vital for Serbia, Vučić has put the country in a position to become a hostage to Russian aggression against Ukraine. The best solution for Serbia is the nationalization of NIS! In this way, the company would pass entirely into the hands of the state and could soon be transferred to a reputable Western company through a tender process.

The second piece of shocking news for Serbia is Bulgaria’s announcement that it will completely stop the transit of Russian gas through its territory from January 1 next year. In other words, Serbia will soon have no way of buying and transporting Russian gas, and it is completely unprepared for this! It remains to be seen whether this announcement by the Bulgarian prime minister, made a few days ago in New York, will come true!

What is nevertheless good for Serbia’s future, despite the painful awakening it must go through, is the fact that it will be finally and forever separated from the political empire of the evil secret service in Moscow and its destructive plans. Without the NUS, Russia also loses its most important lever for developing hybrid actions in the region! Without Russian gas and oil, Serbia will no longer have any argument to defend itself against the rapprochement of its foreign and security policy with the EU! The policy of “Serbian World – Integralism – Unity” will collapse completely, radicalism will be eradicated in Serbia once and for all, and the entire region will breathe freely and turn to reforms for the benefit of all citizens!

Vučić’s speech to the UN General Assembly was that of a man who has no idea about the world he lives in – completely out of touch with reality! He received an invitation from President Trump to a reception, along with 145 other representatives of their countries, but most likely did not dare to attend. Whether out of shame for everything he had done in Florida a few months ago, or because it was suggested to him that although protocol would be observed because of President Trump, he was still not welcome – it’s all the same! Foreign Minister Rubio spoke to him and diplomatically highlighted some positive aspects in his speech (EXPO, strategic cooperation, etc.), but the meeting was very uncomfortable for Vučić, as the main topics were Kosovo, Dodik, the escape of a Chinese citizen who was to be extradited to America, and the stance on the war in Ukraine! Then his meeting with the finance minister was also canceled, with whom he wanted to discuss the New National Economic Council (NIS) and taxes, which at 35% are the highest in Europe.

While President Osmani was invited to Fox News, he gave an interview to the insignificant news channel Newsmax. His visit to New York was once again limited to meetings with a few African representatives, with the non-aligned countries… and his appearance in the Serbian public as a respected statesman with whom everyone talks. But we live in the 21st century, today everyone talks to everyone – that’s not the point! This visit confirmed what I warned about a year ago: Vučić has completely lost his position in foreign policy, especially in the US and the EU! He no longer represents anything positive for Serbia in the world and is also unable to represent the country positively!

This means that Serbia and the region are facing a real springtime for their European future, despite the presence of Russian ice, which still dominates Serbia’s public sphere. Instead of understanding the impending new political climate, Vučić and his people continue to behave like servants of their Kremlin master, failing to realize that, together with their dependence on Russian fossil fuels, they will end up on the scrap heap of history. While they continue to sink into the darkness of their childish illusions, Serbia and the entire region will surely await the dawn of a European dawn and new development prospects within the EU./The Geopost/
