A Serb is suspected of being wounded in the Leposavic area and then kidnapped by the Serbian Gendarmerie, the Kosovo Police announced in a press release on Monday.
According to the announcement, the incident occurred on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
“The Kosovo Police has received information that in the Leposavic area, a person (M. V.), a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo (of Serb nationality), is suspected of being wounded and kidnapped within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo by the Serbian Gendarmerie. The location where the incident is reported to have occurred is suspected to be within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, specifically within the area (known as point zero -0-), near the Leposavic area, between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, for which the Kosovo Police has notified and cooperated with KFOR, as the entity responsible for the border area/strip,” the announcement states.
The Kosovo Police informs that the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes has undertaken its investigative actions, interviewing witnesses of the case, through whom information was secured that several masked persons had entered the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, wounding and kidnapping the victim, whom they then took to the territory of Serbia, where according to witnesses, an ambulance transported him in the direction of the city of Niš in Serbia.
The Kosovo Police has undertaken all necessary actions, in cooperation and coordination with relevant institutions and judicial bodies, where, in consultation with the competent prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica, Serious Crimes Department, the case has been initiated./TheGeopost
