Patriarch Porfirije in front of Putin: Without Russia, No Future for Serbia

The Serbian Patriarch, Porfirije, once again demonstrated that the Serbian Orthodox Church serves as a political branch of Belgrade and Moscow. During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Porfirije openly admitted what we all already know – that official Belgrade, along with its church, relies exclusively on the Kremlin when it comes to Kosovo, Montenegro, and Republika Srpska.

During his visit to Moscow, Porfirije repeated the old propaganda – that Kosovo is the “capital” of the Serbian patriarch. He also thanked Putin for his “support” and said, “without Russia and China, I don’t know what would happen with Kosovo” – as if the fate of people in the Balkans were a toy in the hands of foreign powers.

And while the world is trying to rid itself of Russian influence, the patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church openly wishes for Serbia to be part of the “Russian geopolitical environment” in the event of future regroupings.

And all of this, of course, with the blessing of Aleksandar Vučić, who sent his greetings to Putin and confirmed that he will once again take part in the celebrations of Russian military power this year. At a time when Russian bombs are destroying Ukraine, Serbia still stands by its “big brother.”/The Geopost/
