Earshot, a non-governmental organization dealing with sound analysis, has found that the sound produced by the Vortex Ring Gun, also known as the ROP Vortex, can be heard in footage of the large protest in Belgrade on March 15.
According to Earshot’s findings, the specific acoustic characteristics of this weapon were recognizable in numerous videos recorded during the protest.
Experts warn that the use of the Vortex Ring Gun can cause various health problems, especially for people with heart disease, pacemakers, hearing and breathing problems. Strong air pressure and sound waves can cause dizziness, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmia and possibly hearing damage in people who wear hearing aids.
The use of such means against citizens also confirms the repressive methods of the Vučić government, which instead of dialog relies on the use of force and experiments against its own population.
Earshot also announced that it would soon publish a detailed report with in-depth analysis, while no one from the relevant institutions has yet commented on these allegations.
