Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic traveled to China last week to maintain Serbia’s relations with China. There he was received by the Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong.
At the end of the visit, Dacic took part in the final phase of the training of the special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia (MIB) and the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.
13 Serbian and 47 Chinese police officers participated in the training and demonstrated sniper skills and the use of service dogs (for checking vehicles, objects in the vehicle and finding criminals and confronting them).
They also demonstrated the units’ procedure for breaking up demonstrations in the event of a disturbance of public order and peace. The exercise then moved on to a hostage-taking scenario in a hijacked bus, followed by the final part – entering a building with a helicopter to quickly land on the roof, as well as entering a building with a robot dog and a drone armed with weapons.
Dacic also visited the Serbian police officers participating in joint police patrols in Guangzhou together with their Chinese counterparts.
Dacic supported China’s policy towards Taiwan during his meetings with Chinese officials.
“Serbia firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to deepen cooperation with China in the areas of law enforcement and security and take bilateral relations to a new level.”
In May of this year, the President of China, Xi Jinping, traveled to Belgrade to expand Chinese influence in Serbia, while he and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, discussed a common future.
China sends “regular military supplies” to Serbia.
Meanwhile, in April 2022, China had landed new Chinese weapons. The AP news agency, in a text describing the transport operation as secret, said the planes that continued to land in Belgrade over the weekend were carrying parts of China’s FK-3 anti-aircraft missile system./TheGeopost/
