Russian Foreign Ministry misinforms that Britain is pushing Europe into war with Russia

After the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the United Kingdom of "pushing Europe towards a direct conflict with Russia," this disinformation claim was broadcast by RT Balkan, Sputnik, and numerous pro-Russian portals in the region.

Analysis of the facts shows that this is a well-known propaganda model that attempts to shift responsibility for the war in Ukraine from Russia to the West and the EU.

What does the Russian Foreign Ministry misinform about?

The Kremlin uses carefully chosen diplomatic phrases to intimidate European public opinion and create divisions among Western allies.

WHAT IS THE TRUTH: The UK and other European states did not initiate the conflict, but are strengthening their defense capabilities in direct response to large-scale Russian aggression. Since the beginning of its illegal invasion of Ukraine, Moscow has repeatedly issued nuclear threats and waged hybrid warfare against European countries.

Russia on February 24, 2022 launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which is considered the beginning of the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Analyses show that the claim of "Western preparation for war" fits into a broader propaganda model in which responsibility for the war is shifted from Moscow to the West.

This is a common Kremlin tactic, where blackmail and demands for capitulation of international law are packaged as "readiness for normalization."

European states have increased military and financial aid to Ukraine in response to the Russian invasion, not in preparation for an attack on Russia. 

Claims that Moscow wants normalization of relations, while the West is preventing this, constitute a simplified and propagandistically framed presentation of the political situation.
