The civic group “Clean People for a Clean Kosjerić” announced on its Facebook page that Milan Radoičić, former vice president of the Serbian List and a man on Interpol’s wanted list, was in Kosjerić today, where he met with the mayor of the municipality, Žarko Đokić.
“Enough silence – people need to know the truth! Today, at around 1:30 p.m., a group of suspicious individuals visited our town, causing serious concern among citizens. They arrived in several jeeps, and their host was Slobodan Đukić, a local resident, who met them in front of the Boing café. The group then went to the Božović café, where they were met by the outgoing mayor of the municipality, Žarko Đokić, and his outgoing advisor, Dalibor Vujić,” reported the Facebook page “Clean People for a Clean Kosjerić.”
During the conversation, the post adds, several other people joined them.
“Among them was the father of Mayor Kosjerić, who, according to those present, thanked them for coming and allegedly spoke about protecting his son. Particular attention was drawn to the fact that, according to our information, Milan Radojičić, a controversial figure from Kosovo, was also among the visitors, which raises a number of serious questions.”
“Did he come to support the outgoing president or for some other reason? What role does he play in all this and why are citizens being kept in the dark?” write GG “Clean People for a Clean Kosjerić.”
They also mention that during their stay, supporters of this group monitored the area, prohibited access, and even prevented them from leaving nearby facilities, which further agitated citizens and caused a feeling of fear.
“Because of all this, we demand that Žarko Đokić immediately come forward and give clear answers: Who are the people who were in our city today? Why did they come and for what purpose? Is it their job to ‘defend and protect’ you, and if so, from whom? From your own people? We say to Žarko Đokić: Those who come to ‘defend’ you today may come to arrest you tomorrow. And one thing is certain – the people will not stand behind you.”
The opposition candidate for mayor of Kosjerić, Slavica Pantović from the “United for Kosjerić” parliamentary group, also spoke to Nova.rs about today’s incident in Kosjerić.
She told Nova.rs that the residents of Kosjerić witnessed a serious incident in the very center of the city today, when, accompanied by representatives of the local authorities and their security services, they openly threatened our fellow citizens, including those who participated in civil protests.
“The messages conveyed on this occasion represent an unambiguous attempt to intimidate and violate the fundamental rights of citizens to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. It is particularly worrying that all this took place in the presence of Mayor Kosjerić Žarko Đokić and his closest associates Dalibor Vujić and Slobodan Đukić,” she said.
Such events, he adds, clearly show that attempts are being made in Kosjerić to establish a regime of force and fear, instead of dialogue and politics based on the interests of citizens.
“We demand an urgent response from the police, the prosecutor’s office, and the security services, as well as accountability from all those involved in this incident. We demand an urgent meeting of the assembly regarding this incident, which is causing anxiety and uncertainty among citizens,” Pantović said, telling citizens that despite pressure and threats, they will not give up the fight for a free, safe, and just Kosjerić.
“Our city will not fall under the pressure of force and criminal structures,” she said.
What is Radoičić suspected of?
In June, the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Kosovo issued an international arrest warrant for Milan Radoičić, former vice-president of the Serbian List in Kosovo, for setting up barricades in four municipalities in the north in 2022. This is yet another in a series of warrants or searches issued for Radoičić, who is also wanted for armed conflict in the village of Banjska, for suspected war crimes in Đakovica, for links to the murder of Oliver Ivanović, and for alleged involvement in the “Brezovica” case. Milan Radoičić is also on the United States’ blacklist on suspicion of belonging to corrupt networks linked to international organized crime, together with businessman Zvonko Veselinović from northern Kosovo and a dozen other Serbs./Nova.rs/
