US Senator Chuck Grassley: Dodik, like Assad, has taken refuge in Russia Dodik was recently in Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was the 26th meeting in a row and Dodik stressed that Putin is aware of the situation in BiH and will work to end the work of international institutions, including the institution of the High Representative.

US Senator Chuck Grassley, one of the most influential politicians in the Republic, criticised the President of the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, for his departure to Russia. Grassley drew a parallel between Dodik and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, pointing out that Dodik, like Assad, had sought refuge in Russia in search of a safe haven.

“Like Assad in Syria, Dodik took refuge in Russia. But he will soon face the hand of justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina for trying to destabilise the country and prevent its European path”, Grassley announced via social media.

This is not the first time Grassley has strongly criticised Dodik. Previously, he accused Dodik of pursuing a separatist policy, which he described as dangerous and destructive for the stability of the Balkans. Grassley pointed out that such attempts, like those of the 1990s, have not brought success to the separatists and he believes that they will have no effect today.

Dodik was recently in Moscow where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was the 26th meeting in a row and Dodik stressed that Putin is familiar with the situation in BiH and will push for an end to the work of international institutions, including the institution of the High Representative. Dodik also reiterated his views on the illegitimacy of international representatives in BiH.

As a reminder, Dodik is currently facing charges of attempting to undermine the constitutional order of BiH, for which he is the subject of a central arrest warrant. The BiH Court has already sent a request for an international arrest warrant to Interpol./Oslobodjene.ba/
